Hitler and Schuschnigg meet.
Schuschnigg asks Hitler not to support a takeover.
To please and appease Hitler, he appoints a leading Nazi as minister of the interior.

What did Schuschnigg do at first?
A
Appointed Nazis in the Austrian government. He thought that this would appease them and they wouldn’t want any more power. However they were still planning to take over.

A
He was worried about the result and forced Schuschnigg to resign, saying if he didn’t resign, Germany would invade Austria.
