Ann's module 12 Flashcards
What is the first electromagnetic principle?π€
All electrical charges attract or repel one another, depending on wether they have opposite charges or similar charges.
What is the second electromagnetic principle?π€
The force between charged objects is directly proportional to the amount of electrical charge on each object.
What is the third electromagnetic principle?π€
The force between charged objects is inversely proportional to the square of distance between the two objects.
Define Photons.π€·πΌββοΈ
Small βpackagesβ of light that act just like small particles.
What is Charging by conduction?π€
Charging an object by allowing it to come into contact with an object which already has an electrical charge.
What is Charging by induction?π€
Charging an object by forcing some of the charges to leave the object.
Define Electrical current.π€·πΌββοΈ
The amount of charge that travels though an electrical circuit each second.
What is the Electrical current usually measured in?π€
Electrical current is usually measured in Amps.
Define Conventional current.π€·πΌββοΈ
The current that flows from the positive side of the battery to the negative side. This is the way current is drawn in circuit diagrams, even though it was wrong.
Define Resistance.π€·πΌββοΈ
A measure of how much a metal impedes the flow of electrons.
Define Open circuit.π€·πΌββοΈ
A circuit that dose not have a complete connection between the two sides of the battery. As a result, current dose not flow.
Who was the electric generator/transformer?π€
Michael Faraday.
What is electromagnetic force?π€
It is a fundamental force in nature that acts between the charged particles and is the combination of electrical and magnetic forces. This force can repel and attract.
Electrical is inversely proportional to __________?π€
It is inversely proportional to the distance squared.
What do you call an atom that loses an electron?π€
Positive Ion.
