Q

Describe post editing transitions

A

Transitions are used for post-editing animations to enhance them by: smoothening the transition from one scene to the next, emphasising detail, creating dramatic effects

Q

Advantages of Motion Capture

A
  • It is accurate, very realistic and reliable.
  • Produces realistic results to human movement making it perfect for simulating and animating real life situations.
  • The benefits of this latest technology are that there is an increase in accuracy and a reduction of set up time, reducing the overall costs.

Q

Disadvantages of Motion Capture

A
  • It is expensive to set up and time consuming.
  • Requires trained specialist and sometimes actors to replicate movements increasing costs.
  • The process is complex and requires specialist software and can only recreate human abilities (restricted), huge amount of data created that needs to be processed.

Q

Disadvantages of Stop Frame

A
  • Labour intensive and time consuming due to model making process and capture process of taking ever individual shot.
  • Limited by quality of model and accuracy of movement.
  • Requires specialist staff.

Q

Advantages of Motion Tweening

A
  • The benefits of this process is that it gives a smoother animation without the need to draw every frame, giving a quicker more cost effective animation,
  • complex plotting path of movement is done be the computer.
  • it can animate a number of frames very quickly.
  • Excellent for 2D animations.
  • Can be extended to 3D walkthroughs using fly through paths for cameras.
