What is Angiodysplasia?
A
Is the vascular malformation of the submucosa in the gut.

What does this vascular malformation cause?
A
Venous dilation and tortuosity

A
Ceacum or ascending colon

A
- Melena
- Anaemia

What is the pathophysiology?
A
- Intermittent contractions of the bowel wall which obstructs drainage of the veins in the bowel wall

How is it commonly diagnosed?
A
Endoscopy
Pill endoscopy
Angiography

What is treatment
A
- Blood transfusion - anaemic
- Endoscopic ablation - argon plasma coagulation
- Angiography and emobolisation
- Bowel resection

A
- antifibirnolytics - transexemic acid
