anatomy Flashcards
coronary circulation: summarise the anatomy of the coronary circulation
where do coronary blood vessels arise from
just superior to aortic valve; roughly off right cusp and left cusp
what are the 3 cornorary vessels and where are they located
right coronary artery (right cusp; right ventricle); left anterior descending (left cusp; front; septum/left ventricle); left circumflex (left cusp; aound left ventricle)
why do the 3 coronary vessels branch
to ensure blood reaches every cell
where do the coronary veins conjugate
coronary sinus at back of heart
where does the blood from the coronary sinus enter
right atrium
veins of coronary circulation
anterior interventricular vein, anterior veins, great cardiac veins, small cardiac veins, right marginal vein, middle cardiac vein
organ care system: which side is airtight
right side (pulmonary)
organ care system: vessels
vena cava clamped; blood enters via pulmonary vein and leaves via pulmonary artery
organ care system: blood to coronary veins
blood also pumped into aorta so hits aortic valve; pushed into coronary arteries to maintain myocardium function
route of drainage vent placed into apex/left ventricle
vena cavae → left atria → mitral valve → left ventricle; removes blood from left ventricle
