Only one side of body/part
What does it mean bilateral
Two sides of the body/parts
What does it mean ipsilateral
Its on the same side of the body
What does it mean contralateral
Its on the opposite side of the body
What are the 3 planes of motion
Transverse, sagittal, frontal
What is a sagittal plane and which movements occur in this plane
- Divides the body into a right and left symemetrical halves
- Flexion and extension movements
What is a frontal/coronal plane and which movements occur in this plane
- Divides the body into a anterior and posterior halves
- abduction and adduction movements
What is a transverse plane and which movements occur in this plane
- Divides the body into a inferior and superior part
- internal and external rotations
