Coronal/ Frontal plane
Plane splitting the front and back of body
Sagittal / longitutidinal plane
Plane which splits the left side from the right side of the body
Transverse / axal / horizontal plane
plane that splits the top part from the bottom part of the body
Oblique Plane
plane that passes through body at an oblique angle
Superior
Above (towards head)
Inferior
below (towards feet)

How is the left and right side of the body different on diagrams of the body?
The left and right is oposite to your own, as it’s the left and right of their body not yours.
Anterior / Ventral
Front of the body
Posterior / dorsal
Back of the body
Proximal
Closer
Only used to describe the location of two points on the same limb or closer to the trunk of a limb
Distal
far away
used to talk about 2 points on a limb or from where limb inserts the body
Medial
Any point closer to the midpoint of the body (sagittal)
Lateral
Further from mid line (sagittal plane)
