Anatomical Positions Flashcards
Anatomical position
The body is standing in erect position
Palms of the hand and eyes are looking forward
Arms by the side of the trunk
Legs lie close together
Median (Saggital) plane

Deep
Away from surface towards the inside
Ipsilateral
Structures are in the same side
Contralateral
Structures are on opposite sides
Supine position
Body is lying on the back
Prone position
Body is lying with face downward
