Abduction
the motion of a limb or appendage away from the midline of the body
Adduction
The motion of a limb towards the body
Depression
pushing down
Elevation
moving up
dorsiflexion
moving toes up
plantarflexion
Moving toes down
Eversion
rotating ankle away from body
Inversion
Rotating ankle towards the center
Extension
A straightening movement that increases the angle between body parts.
Flexion
a bending movement around a joint in a limb (as the knee or elbow) that decreases the angle between the bones of the limb at the joint
Horizontal extension
Returning the arm out to the side keeping it parallel to the floor
Horizontal Flexion
Moving an arm across yourself parallel to the side.
Pronation
rotation of hand or arm so palms face down
Supination
rotation of hand or arm so palms face up
