What is anaphylaxis?
A
presents with sudden onset of life-threatening airway and/or breathing and/or circulation problems (with or without skin changes) after exposure to a trigger (allergen)

- Acute onset
- Airway swelling (angio-oedema)
- Inspiratory stridor and hoarse voice
- SOB
- Wheezing, chest hyperinflation and accessory muscle use

- Septic shock
- Cardiogenic shock

- Vasovagal reaction

What is the Intial management for anaphylaxis?
A
- CPR
- ABCDE: 100% oxygen and secure airway

What is the medical management of anaphylaxis?
A
- IM adrenaline 0.5mg
- Chlorphenamine 10mg IV and Hydrocortisone 200mg IV
- IVI e.g. 0.9% saline 500mL over 15 mins

A
Life-threatening problems
- Airway Hoarse voice stridor
- Breathing ↑work of breathing, wheeze, fatigue, cyanosis, SpO2
