What are the 3 Types of Anaemia?

A
  1. Macrocytic - Large MCV = Large Cells.
  2. Normocytic - Normal MCV - Normal Sized Cells.
  3. Microcytic - Small MCV - Small Cells.

  1. Tiredness.
  2. SOB.
  3. Headaches.
  4. Dizziness.
  5. Palpitations.
  6. Exacerbation of Other Conditions e.g. Angina, HF, PVD.

  1. Pale Skin.
  2. Conjunctival Pallor.
  3. Tachycardia.
  4. Raised Respiratory Rate.

Investigations of Anaemia (3).

A
  1. Bloods : Haemoglobin, MCV, B12, Folate, Ferritin.
  2. Blood Film.
  3. Bone Marrow Biopsy - if Unclear Cause.
