treatment not recommened unles cryotherapy of refer - HIV and high sensitivites area

be aware of sickle cell disease ( aplastic anaemia) and heriditary spherocytosis
hand, foot and mouth diseasa caused by
cocksackie A16 or enterovirus A71 highly ocntagious
features of hand foot and mouth disease
rash on hands and feet - soles and palms , macular and maculopapular and vesciuarl rash
sore throat
fever
oral ulcers
mx supportive
hydration
anaalgesia
but no school exclusion
scarlet fever rash
group a strep
fever
sore throat
sand paper rash - starts on trunk
cervical lymphadenopathy
strawberry tongue
flushed face with perioral pallor
temp than rash
mx of scarlet fever
high risk or cant swallow or dehydrated send to hospital using red flags
give 10 day phenoxymethylpenicllin
clarithryomycin if allergic
no school for 24 hr after intiating abx
impetigo caused by staph or strep what are sx
erythematous macule, vescile, bullous
pustular
honey-coloured/ gold crust
on face or neck
mx of impetigo
hydrogen peroxide 1% cream
2nd - topical fusidic acid/mupirocin
systemic abx - fluclox or clarithyromycin
