What are the weaknesses of the Article of Confederation?
- lack of power given to the continental congress
- gave congress powers to make laws but not to enforce them
- states could just ignore laws

Why did the states require a Bill of Rights on the Constitution?
so that they could have basic individual protection
What are the requirements to be the President? (age, citizenship), Senate? House?
House of rep.- must be 25 and a citizen for 7 years, must live in state you represent
Senate- 30 years old and live in us for 9 years
President- natural born citizen, 35 years old, 14 years of resident in united states
What does the Preamble do? (not what it says, what does it do?)
helps us form a better union, lets us defend ourselves, helps us have a better life
What does Article 1 of the Constitution cover? Article II? Article III?
- gives congress powers and limits, makes laws for us, bicamarial legislature, gives us the senate and house of represenative
- authority for administration,gives president and vice president there rules and requirments on who can rule as president and protocal for many things
- gives citizens there rights for trials, treason is not allowed
Pick one of the first 10 Amendments. Be able to tell what it is about, and why it is important.
The first amendment gives us freedom of speech, religion, and the press. I think this is important so that we can worship wherever and whenever we want, we can say what we want to about subjects and not be put in jail for it, and we can no whats going on in the world through freedom of the press
What was the Whiskey Rebellion?
tax on liquor protects and a protest on those taxes showed that the government would interfere with disruption
What does it mean to be a strict constructionist? What does it mean to be a loose constructionist? Give an example of a leader in each category?
Strict- rule by the people, strong state governments, emphasis on agriculture, strict interpretation on the constition, Thomas Jefferson was the leader
Loose- rule by the wealthy class, strong fedral leaders, emphasis on manufacturing, loose interpretation of the constition ruled by Alexander Hamitltion
What are the Alien and Sedition Acts? (We will go over this on Tuesday in class)
passed in 1798 by John Adams saying that the government could deport dangerous people and that oublishing false information about the government was a crime
