What are the contributions of Benjamin Franklin to American society?
He was a statesman, author,scientist, invento, and diplomat. Launched a lending library, hospital, and college. Served on second continental congress amd helped draft declarartion of independence. He neogitiated the Treaty of Paris that ended the revolutionary war
Why is it important to have freedom of the press?
Freedom of the press is important because we are able to know what is happening every where else in the world. We are able to know what is happening with government and where our country is headed. Without the freedom of press we would be know where in our democracy.
What are the parts of the Declaration of Independence? Why was it written?
Preamble, rights of all people, grievances or unfair actions by the king, reslution of states
It was written to tell that all people have equal rights and have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Compare Loyalists and Patriots
Patriots wanted freedom from britain while wanted to stay part of britain. Patriots were not treated fairly by the king while the loyalists were. Loyalists thought there lives were better off with the king. Thomas Jefferson and John Adams were to famous patriots. Benedict Arnold is a famous loyalists
Who fought against who in the French and Indian war? Why?
Fought between France and Great Britain because of trade in the Ohio River Valley
How were the cities of New England governed as colonies? What did they do for money?
All of the systems of government in the New England Colonies elected their own legislature, they were all democratic, they all had a governor, governor’s court, and a court system. New England coast towns made money by fishing, whaling, and shipbuilding. Northern colonies focused on manufacturing and some areas of the colonies focused on farming.
