If 50% is not achieved in the first round , how does it ensure the winning candidate achieves 50% in the second round

A

Candidate with the least amount of votes is eliminated and they take the second preferences of anybody who votes for them , redistributing these votes to the remaining candidates. Ontinues until one candidate has more than 50% of the votes.
