What is the social learning theory ?
People copy the behaviour that they see as successful by people they hold in high esteem
Observe —> identity —> reinforce —> copy
What is the interactionist perspective ?
A theory which combines trait and social learning to predict behaviour in specific situations
Given by the formula B = F(P x E) (Lewin)
Meaning behaviour is a function of personality times environment
What is the Hollander approach ?
Suggests that personality is made up of 3 features
The core - values and beliefs of the individual
Typical response - the use of inherit traits displayed to specific situations
Role related behaviour - suggests that the performer may adapt or adopt a specific role when the situation demands
What is the triadic model (CAB)
Suggests there are 3 parts to an attitude
Cognitive - you belief, knowledge and thoughts
Affective - your feeling or emotional response
Behavioural - your actions or intended behaviour
What are the 2 ways to change an attitude
Cognitive dissonance - giving new information to cause unease / disharmony in a player
Persuasive communication - Using word and communication to cause an attitude change
