A

• due to the increase in industrialization in Poland there was also ▲ in workers views gravitating towards Marxism

• this is seen in 1892 with the establishment of the Polish socialist party

• 1893 SD party forms = Nat dem group all parties in 1st/2nd Duma (thats later)

• political parties at this time are still illegal till 1905

The Lutherian church (German nobels owe it) peasnts convert to orthodox cuz they dislike German nobles

Replaced Lutherians with orthodox = easy as leagal to convert to orthodox but not from it = 1 way trap

Also German language repplased with Russian as this happened

no russ of Islam

cuz too far away + too difficult to change into Orthodox

in 1882 A III passes loads of repressive laws called the May laws

Pobodenostsev, pogroms, Easter and Reppression

A

The Russian nationalism and anti-Semitism of Pobodenostsev (influenced AIII) contributed to ▲ attacks on Jews + encouraged by the regime.

Pogroms were common particularly around Easter. (cuz of Jews killed jesus theory)

Laws were passed preventing Jewish participation even within the Pale!
