- Persistent desire or unsuccessful efforts to cut down or control
- Craving or strong deisre/urge to drink
- Withdrawal, either withdrawal symptoms or use of alcohol to reduce symptoms

A
- Recent ingestion of alcohol
- Clinically significant problematic behaviours or psychosocial changes that happened during or shortly after ingestion
- One or more signs during or after ingestions

- Slurred speech
- Incoordination
- Unsteady gait
- Nystagmus
- Impairment in attention or memory
- Stupor or coma

- Signs of withdrawal, at least 2
- Cause distress of important areas of function
