Alcohol Defense Plan Flashcards

Q

Why is the false brain message attacking me?

A

Because my brain was brainwashed to believe that alcohol relaxes me or let’s me enjoy social occasions or gives me pleasure. But it doesn’t. It simply paralyses my senses. It’s like sticking my head in the sand. Dealing with the stressor would allow me to relax and I must have my wits about me to deal with the stressor. I can enjoy social situations much more when I clear minded and sober than when I am drunk and there is no joy in alcohol. Alcohol makes me stupid.

Q

My brain says “you’re giving up relaxation!” What do I do?

A

Call BULLSHIT, I’m giving up nothing. Alcohol provides no benefit whatsoever, none. It causes more stress, more pain and ultimate total loss of all I love in life.

Q

Do I need willpower to resist the false brain message that I crave alcohol?

A

No. All I need is clarity to remember the truth that the craving is a false brain message. I do not crave alcohol, I do not want to drink, so there is nothing to resist, no willpower needed. I’ve given up absolutely nothing of value so what’s to crave? Its just a tired, old weakening false brain message. Bell the cat and enjoy my life of clarity, confidence, vitality and wisdom with much more time, energy, love and money as a nondrinker.

Q

Alcohol attacks by sending false brain message questioning my decision to completely stop drinking and suggesting just “moderation”. What should I do?

A

Call BULLSHIT. My decision was 100% right. There is no such thing as moderation with alcohol. If you drink it at all it is in control of YOU, you are not in control of it. Bell the cat, pull its fangs. Throw it out into the street. I never ever question my decision to never drink. It gives up nothing and gains everything, time, energy, love and money; clarity, confidence, vitality and wisdom.
