Illegal Drugs vs Medication
There is no difference under the law, both can affect your ability to drive safely
No matter what age you are it is illegal to drive after:
- drinking excessive amounts of alcohol in any form
- taking any drug that affects your ability to drive
- using any combination of alcohol or drugs that decreases your ability to drive safely

Can you be charged with a DUI if BACs are lower than illegal amounts?
- yes, depending on how badly you are impaired, you may be arrested or convicted of a DUI even without a BAC measurement
When you drive in CA you consent to what types of test if law enforcement suspects you of DUI?
- breath

What will happen if you refuse to take a breath, blood or urin test?
-DMV will suspend or revoke your driving privilege
If you are arrested for a DUI:
- Ca requires DMV to suspend your driving privilege
- the law enforcement officer may take your license and give you a temporary drivers license for 30 days
- you may request a hearing within 10 days from the date of your arrest
How long do DUIs remain on your record?

What are some additional rule for possession of alcohol under 21 years old
- you may not carry liquor or beer or wine unless someone is 21 years old is with you
- must be full sealed or unopened
- if you are caught with alcohol, vehicle will be impounded up to 30 days and court will fine you up to 1000 and suspend license for 1 year
