Completely denatured alcohol (CDA)
Industrial denatured alcohol (IDA)
Trade specific denatured alcohol (TSDA)
CDA is used for
heating, lighting, cleaning and domestic use
CDA is made of
90 parts alcohol, 9.5 parts wood naptha and 0.5 crude pyridine
How much CDA can a pharmacist obtain
Any quantity from a wholesaler
IDA is used fro
Industrial, scientific and extreme medical applications
Formula for IDA is
95 parts alcohol, 5 parts wood naptha
How much IDA can a pharmacist obtain
Any amount from a distributor that has been authorized by HM Customs and Exicse
How to make up IDA extemporaneously
1/ Application from authority to recieve IDA
2/ State on application that IDA is only for medicinal purposes
3/ Work out estimated annual requirements
4/ You receive writing from authority to receive IDA for medicinal purposes
5/ Furnish distributor with copy of your authority to receive IDA
6/ Order IDA from distributor
7/ Make up lotion
8/ Store remaining IDA in lockable cabinet
