What is delirium tremens?

A
  • profound confusion, tremor, agitiation, hallucinations, delusion, sleeplessness, autonomic over-activity
  • mortality = 5%
  • death by; CV collapse, infection, hyperthermia, seizures, self-injury
  • usually 48-72 hrs after alcohol stopped
