What is Alcohol and How Does It Act?
Alcohol, or ethanol, is a psychoactive substance found in beverages such as beer, wine. It targets the central nervous system, affecting the brain, leading to drowziness and a feeling of relaxtion.
Factors Affecting Alcohol Absorption:
These include the individual’s weight, age, gender, metabolism, the presence of food in the stomach, and the alcohol content and type of beverage consumed.
Laws on Alcohol Use in Ontario:
The legal drinking age is 19, and it is illegal to sell alcohol to anyone under this age.
How Does Alcohol Affect the Body?
Affects various organs, acts as a stimualnt leading to relaxation and euphoria. As the BAC increases, it slows down the nervous system leading to unconciousness.
Path of Alcohol in the Body:
The path of alcohol begins with its ingestion, typically through the mouth. It is then absorbed primarily in the small intestine into the bloodstream. From there, it is circulated throughout the body, affecting various organs
