Describe a orthographic projection
It is a way of drawing an object using different views at right angles to each other, such as a top, front, and side view.
Describe the appearance of lines used to show hidden views, alternate positions and the middle of symmetrical objects and give their proper name.
Hidden views are a serious of short dashes. Alternate positions are one long and two short evenly spaced dashes. Center lines are alternating long and short dashes
How can you determine if a drawing has been changed?
listed in the revision block or ruled columns with revision numbers or notes listed
How are dimensions shown on aircraft drawings, and what is their purpose?
By numbers shown in the break of a dimension line . They represent the size of an object

shows all the components of a part in an exploded form. A parts list is included
What is a detail drawing?
It includes all the information needed to fabricate the part.
What is a butt line?
A reference line to the right or left of the center line of the aircraft.
What is an installation drawing?
It shows the location of the parts and assemblies on the complete aircraft.
What is meant by “ clearance” when used on aircraft drawings?
An allowable dimension between two or more moving parts
What kind of information about an aircraft drawing can be found in the title block?
Drawing number, part or assembly name, drawing size, scale, date, name and address of company who made the part, name of draftsman and engineer approving the part

A list of materials and parts needed to fabricate or assemble the part
