16
Q

When can a Rotary wing AC enter the traffic pattern?

A

Anywhere as long as it safe

17
Q

2 Primary Methods to create additional airspace between AC?

A
  1. The 360 degree turnout- given to slower AC, 2 minute turnout. Can do it on Final Approach.
  2. Extending 1 or more legs of the pattern. ( can’t extend base or final leg)
18
Q

Most commonly encountered approach by PF?

A

circling approach

19
Q

Closed traffic pattern use

A

two types left and right. AC continues to orbits at a specified altitude. Ex. DZ operations

20
Q

6 priorities for landing AC at your site

A
AMCFAS
Aircraft with an in-flight emergency
MEDEVAC AC with ground MEDEVAC
Coded AC (1-8)
Flight of 2 or more AC
AC with External Load
Single AC
21
Q

3 cardinal rules for arriving and departing AC

A
  1. Arriving AC will not be given clearance to land until all preceding AC have taxied or flown forward of landing point.
  2. Departing AC will not be cleared for departure until all AC have flown clear.
  3. Never allow a sling load AC to fly over personnel, equipment or another AC at any time.
