MEDEVAC defined
The movement and en route care by medical personnel of wounded, injured or ill persons from the battlefield to a Medical facility.
CASEVAC defined
the movement of casualties aboard non-medical vehicles or aircraft. Casualties transported in this manner do not receive en route medical care.
UH-1V MEDEVAC Config.
Crew: 2 pilots, 1 crew chief, 1 medic
Standard Config: 3L and 4A
Max Config: 6L or 9A
Red Cross markings: 4; nose, belly and each cargo door.
UH-72A MEDEVAC Config.
Crew: 2 pilots, 1 medic Standard Config: 1L and 3A Max Config: 2L or 1L and 4A Red Cross markings: 4; nose, top and each cargo door. Note: used for garrison MEDEVAC only Ex. Humanitarian aid and training
UH-60Q MEDEVAC Config.
Crew: 2 pilots, 1 crew chief, 1 medic
Standard Config: 4L and 4A
Max Config: 6L and 1A or 7A
Red Cross markings: 5; nose, top, bottom and each cargo door.
CH-47 MEDEVAC Config.
Crew: 2 pilots, 2 crew chiefs, 1 medic per 6P
Standard Config: 12L and 16A
Max Config: 24L and 1L or 31A
Red Cross markings: None
Note: primary mission is Mass Casualty Evac

- Security during Wartime or Type of injury during Peacetime
- Method of marking the site
- Patient nationality and status
- NBC contamination during wartime or terrain description during peacetime
