Over a built up area a helicopter must maintian at least _______feet above the highest obstruction within horizontal distance of _______ feet
1000’ vertically
500’ horizontally
commuter operation is defined as?

- multi engine aircraft other than a turbo jet powered airplane tha has a MCTOW of 8,618kgs (19,000lbs)or less and a seating of 9 or less excluding pilot seats
- any aircraft authorized by the minister
What does a red flashing light mean in the air and on the ground?
Air-airport unsafe do not land
ground-taxi clear of landing area
Define: movement area
part of an aerodrome that is intended to be used for the surface movement of aircraft and includes the manuevering area and aprons
unless otherwise permitted a fllight crew members total flight time shall not exceed? \_\_\_ in 24hr \_\_\_\_ in 7 days \_\_\_ in 30 days \_\_\_ in 90 days \_\_\_ in 365 days

Define maneauvering area
part of an aredrome other than an apron that is intended to be used for the take-off and landing of aircraft and for the movement of aircraft associated with the take off and landings
What is the minimum number of light required for a rectangular helipad? what color are the required to be?
8 yellow lights
What safety equipment is required on board aircraft?

time peice
flash light
What is an aviation occurance?
any accident or incident associated with the operation of an aircraft
The estimated time/position of penetration of an ADIZ boundary must be revised if it is greater than +/- _____minutes or +/- _____ NM
+/- 5 minutes
+/- 20 NM
A flight itinerary shall contian the following information.
- aircraft registration and type
- estimated duration of flight and ETA at destination
- route of flight or specific boundaries of the area of flight operations
- location of overnight stops if applicable
An uncontrolled VFR aircraft at 12 500’ or below shall sqauck code_____

- insurance
- interception orders
- pilots licence
What is an aerial work operation?
a commercial air service other than an air transport service or a flight training service. aerial work regulation apply to the aerial work involving product dispersal carriagiage of Class B, C or D external loads, but do not apply to aircraft in aerial work involving sightseeing operations
Are VFR aircraft permitted in class C airspace? And if yes are there any special requirements?
Yes, if they obtian clearance two way radio and Mode C transponder are required
What errors are ADF subject to?
1) station overlap (one or more stations assigned to the same frequencies)
2) electrical storms-points to storms
3) night effect-greatest at sunrise and sunset
4) Quadrantal effect-radiowaves defected off aircraft before hitting antenna
5) mountian effect-mountian reflcet waves causing erranous indication errors
6) coastal effect- distortions from land to sea, greatest at less than 30* from coast line
