AHRS Flashcards
What is the AHRS system made up of?
- AHRU 1 and 2
- Flux valves
- AHRS control panel 1 and 2
- Remote memory module 1 and 2
What does the AHRS system calculate?
- Altitude
- Magnetic heading
- Lateral Accelerations
- Angular rates
- Vertical speed
What will you get if AHRS lubber line is off by 4°
HDG MISMATCH
What are the two modes of the AHRS?
Standard mode and Reduced Performance Mode
What are the standard modes?
What are the reduced performance modes?
Normal, slave, alignment
Basic and DG
What is normal mode?
What is slaved mode?
When does it align?
Normal: TAS from ADC used to compensate for acceleration induced errors.
Slaved: Flux valve slaves heading.
On system activation.
What are the reduced operation modes of the AHRS?
Basic and DG
What is the basic mode of the AHRS?
It has no correction for acceleration. It becomes a conventional AI. This happens when the flux valve fails
What happens if the flux valve fails?
It becomes a basic gyro.
Is TAS required for AHRS to function?
No
