Aha pediatric cardiac arrest Flashcards
step one
start cpr
give o2
attach monitor
step 2
is it a shockable rhythm ? v fibb v tach
step 3
shock
step 4
continue cpr for 2 mins and gain iv/ io access
step 5 if its a shockable rhythm
shock
step 6 continue …
cpr for 2 mins and epi every 3-5 mins
consider advance airway
Step 7 if rhythem is shockable again
shock
step 7
amiodarone or lidocaine treat reversible causes
if not a shock-able rhythm then
same thing just without shocking and amio
If you get an organized rhythm then you
check pulse(after two minutes)- if you have rosc then begin post arrest care.
push how far on compresion
push greater or equal to 1/3 of chest
if no advanced airway do what ratio
15-2
first shock energy dose
2 jewls per kilo
second shock is
4 jewls / kg
every shock after number two is what dose
greater or equall to 4 j/kg with a max of 10 j/kg
epi io / iv dose
.01 mg / kg -( .1ml/kg of 1 : 10,000 concentration)
if no iv/ io access you can give endotrachial dose of
.1 mg/ kg (.1ml/kg of 1 to 1000)
Amiodarone dose
5 mg per kg bolus
amio repeat dose
may repeat up to 2 times for refractory v fibb / pulsless v tach
Once advanced airway place us what to confirm et placement
waveform capno
once advance airway is in place give ….
1 breath every 6 seconds : 10 breaths per minute w continuous chest compressions
look for reversible causes
