What are some sheep diseases?

A

Flystrike - where blowflies lay eggs on soiled wool or open wounds, maggots burrow into the sheep’s flesh and feed on their tissues. Can cause significant pain, illness, and potentially death
Blue Tongue (BTV) - a notifiable (Animal Plant Health Agency), viral disease caused by biting midges, causes fever, lameness, ulcers in the mouth and nose, and in some cases, a blue-colored tongue

What are the different tests for AHA succession?

A

Commerical unit test = Applicant must not be an occupant of another ‘commercial unit’ of agricultural land
Suitability test = Applicant must show they have the ability to farm to a ‘high commercial standard’ of efficienct production and care for the environment
Livlihood / eligibility test = Close living relative, spouse, civil partner, child or sibling. The holding must be the applicants main / only source of income for the las 5-7 years
