• increase altitude = power reduction at this height
• F/A mixture at fixed throttle and RPM setting changes in mixture setting can change engine performance

• 1:15 (efficient burning)
• altitude is increased = amount of mass airflow is reduced
• mixture setting leaner than Ccm not all oxygen is being burnt = decrease in engine performance
