- Pt otherwise clinically healthy
- Rapid attachment loss & bone destruction, younger
- Familial aggression
- Low plaque levels
- Increased A.a

What are some possible aetiologies for aggressive periodontitis?
A
- Defects in neutrophil function
- Root abnormalities
- Hyper-responsive macrophage (body damages self)
- Viral?

What are the features of localised aggressive periodontitis?
A
- Pubertal onset
- Localised pattern of attachment loss = 6s and incisors affected

What ate the features of generalised agggressive periodontitis?
A
- Usually <30 yrs but exceptions
- Generalised pattern of attachment loss = at least 3 teeth other than 6s and incisors

What are the risk factors for developing aggressive periodontitis?
A
- Genetic
- Smoking
- Poor OH
- Diabetes
- Leukaemia
- Obesity
- Pregnancy

How is aggressive periodontitis managed?
A
- If suspected -> REFER
- AB may be helpful
- Daily CHX mw: 2 weeks
- OHI: at 4 weeks
- HPT: at 8 weeks
- Review w consultant: at 12 weeks
