A

Idea that individuals accept that other individuals who are higher up the social hierarchy should be obeyed. Sense of duty.

Milgram research demonstrates power of legitimate authority with professor/experiments occupying a high level in social hierarchy due to extensive education and respect for science as a discipline. Demonstrates agentic state as often pts would agree to continue after he said he was responsible.
