How are traditional healers different from Western psychologists?
Traditional healers believe in the harmony between mind body and spirit. Western psychology believes in that the mind, body and spirit are separate entities. Usually western psychology even eliminates the spiritual presence of a human.
Can African psychology and western psychology exist together?
The answer is complicated as western and African psychology do have different views. For the 2 streams of pyscology to interconnect both types of psychology will need to focus on connecting the differences and emphasising the similarities to create a coherent field of psychology.
