Blunted Affect
significant reduction in the intensity of emotional expression
Flat Affect
absence o near absence of any sign of affective expression
labile Affect
Abnormal variability in affect with repeated, rapid, and abrupt | shifts in affective expression
Amnesia
An inability to recall important autobiographical information that is inconsistent with ordinary forgetting
Anhedonia
Lack of enjoyment from, engagement in, or energy for life’s experiences; deficits in the capacity to feel. pleasure and take I interest in things. It is also a facet of the broad personality trait domain “detachment”
Anxiousness
Feelings of nervousness or tens enessin reaction to diverse situations; frequent worry about negative effects of past | unpleasant experiences and future negative possibilities; / feeling fearful and apprehensive about any uncertainty and expececting the worst to happen.
Affect:
Observed expression of emotion; may be inconsistent with the patient’s description of emotion.
Appropriate Affect
Condition in which the emotional tone is in harmony with the accompanying idea, thought, or speech; also further described as broad or full affect, in which a full range of emotion is appropriately expressed.
Inappropriate affect:
Disharmony between the emotional feeling tone and the idea, thought or speech accompanying it.
Restricted or constricted affect
Reduction in intensity of feeling tone less severe than blunted affect but clearly reduced.
Mood
A perv asteard sustained emotion subjectively experiences and reported by the patient and observed by others. Examples include depression, elation, and anger.
Dysphoric Mood
Unpleasant
Euthymic Mood
Normal range of mood, implying an absence of depression or elevated mood.
Irritable mood
Easily annoyed and provoked to anger.
Elevated Mood
Air of confidence and enjoyment; a mood more cheerful than usual.
