Q

Spatial Disorientation

Definition, types

A

Def: Inability to determine position, attitude, motion to surface

Types:

1: Unrecognized, most dangerous
2: Recognized, but not as spatial D (ex. Leans)

Q

Illusions

A

Somatogyral
Leans - Feel straight, level. Attitude shows bank.
Graveyard Spin - F/W, spin for seconds, reach equilibrium

Coriolis - Most dangerous, overwhelming disorientation in pitch and roll and yaw.
