what is legitimate power?
when someone is in a higher position, giving them control over others.
what is coercive power?
type of power that employs the use of force, threats, and other forms of coercion to stimulate an outcome
Fear of punishment is the incentive to comply.
what is expert power?
This power comes directly from your top-level skills and years of experience. Once you hold expert knowledge, your peers will likely regard you as such
what is informational power?
form of personal or collective power that is based on controlling information needed by others in order to reach an important goal
a capacity to influence others that is based on one’s knowledge of facts relevant to the situation.
what is the power of reward?
held by those who can motivate people to respond to win raises, promotions, and awards.
what is referent power?
type of power that stems from a leader’s ability to inspire and influence others
This authority comes from the extent to which people admire, respect, and like a specific leader
how is burnout and depression different?
Burnout can usually be resolved by taking time away from the activities that cause you stress
On the other hand, depression is a mental health condition that doesn’t usually go away on its own
