What are the requirements of the ASA which PRPG highlights as being of particular relevance to advertising by members?

You advertise your firm as better than a client’s previous advisers, how does this break the guidelines?
This is unsuitable because it discredits other advisers and reflects badly on members of the ATT/CIOT
What must advertising campaigns be?
Sufficiently distinguishable, not misleading and fee information must be clear, it must not amount to harassment
Can members use the ATT/CIOT coat of arms?
No you cannot use the coat of arms, but you can seek permission to use the logo
What must be made clear when promotional material makes reference to fees?
The basis on which fees are calculated, it should not be misleading
What must you not breach when advertising?
Client confidentiality, misleading client by implication, regulatory or legislative requirements, discrediting the services of others
You want to use the ATT ‘s coat of arms and logo in advert, how do you go about this?
Seek permission for use of the logo from the ATT, the coats of arms can only be used by the ATT
Are members permitted to cold call clients?
Cold calling constitutes an unsolicited approach to a non-client but is permitted so long as you do not make repeated calls
If you are studying for the Chartered Accountants in Ireland, can you use the CTA or ATT when corresponding with clients?
