- later adulthood is when changes become the most acute, with reaction times slowing and poor memory becoming an issue
- physical changes can also include poor hearing and eyesight, the loss of strength and less stamina for activities
- older people often experience a change in sleep patterns and their immune system becomes less efficient making them prone to infections which take longer to clear
