What is adult-onset immunodeficiency syndrome?
A
An acquired immunodeficiency caused by anti-interferon gamma antibodies.
Typical onset is 30-50 years of age, slightly more common in people of Southeast Asian heritage.

Typical course of an AOIS patient
A
Fine until adulthood, but then develop recurrent atypical mycobacterial, non-typhoidal salmonella, Penicillium marneffei, CMV, and VZV infections.
