Systemic adjucts - oral medications
Locally delivered adjuncts - delivered directly via the periodontal pockets

A
  1. acute periodontal diseases (necrotising periodontal disease, abscesses)
  2. Virulent periodontal pathogens
  3. Susceptible hosts (susceptible to inflammation)
