A
- Change an aspect of activity or environment to allow performance
- Usually making tasks less demanding to promote success
- Modify position, size, shape, weight, texture of materials
- Change nature or degree of interpersonal contact

A
- Tasks (or series of tasks) are presented with gradually increasing or decreasing demands for a therapeutic effect
- Incremental modifications
- Usually to promote skill development and/or functional improvement
- Change process, tools, materials, environment of single activity, over time

ADAPTING
•Modify due to residual deficit
- Don’t expect change over time
- Example: decreased vision
GRADING
•Incremental changes due to temporary deficit
- DO expect change over time
- Example: decreased strength
