- often occurs rhinitis
- streptococcus pneumoniae, haemophilius influenzae, diplodocus and bactericide

Influenza
A
Contagious for up to 24 hours before manifestations develop and up to 5 days after they begin
-antiviral: anantadine, rimantidine, and ribavarib. Tamiflu (oseltamivir)

Pneumonia
A
Community acquired pneumonia: most common. Complication of flu.
Health care based pneumonia: resistant to antibiotics
-sputum culture before antibiotics
