100 Rule - systolic BP >100 - Pulse > 100 - Hb < 100 Age > 60 Comorbidities Postural drop

Rockall + Blatchford scoring

Management of acute GI bleed
A
- ABCDE
- Bloods for cross-matching (O-neg if delay)
- High dose PPI
- Treat bleeding peptic ulcers

Treatment of bleeding peptic ulcers
A
- Adrenaline injection
- Heater probe coagulation
- Haemospray (last resort)
- Sclerotherapy for varices

Treatment of rebreeding peptic ulcers
A
If rebleed, initial adrenaline injection + heater probe + omeprazole then endoscopy
Surgery if bleeding continues
