Describe the major thought/issue(s) in a pseudonymous Pauline letter [your choice of the 6].
The Epistle to the Ephesians, a pseudonymous Pauline letter, highlights the unity of Jews and Gentiles in Christ, the church as the Body of Christ, and the necessity of spiritual armor against demonic forces. It also provides ethical guidelines emphasizing love, humility, and purity while revealing the mystery of the gospel, which includes Gentiles in God’s salvation plan through Christ.
What does it mean that Jesus is our “High Priest”?
I think it means when Jesus is our “high priest,” Jesus represents us before God and intercedes on our behalf. He understands our struggles and weaknesses and offers Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, reconciling us with God and making it possible for us to have eternal life.
Jerusalem council:
Where?
Who?
How did it affect Paul:
- Jerusalem
- The apostles, elders, and some believers, with prominent figures like Peter, James, and Paul present.
-Paul was affected by his own idea to discuss the rules for new Gentile converts. He believed that some of the rules of the Law of Moses applied, except for circumcision. The only rule they had to follow was not eating “unclean” food.
What was Peter’s role in the early church?
Peter was a central leader and one of Jesus’s primary apostles in the early church. He was known for his preaching, leadership in the Jerusalem church, and contributions to the spread of Christianity among Jews and Gentiles.
What did it decide?
The Jerusalem Council decided that Gentile that converts to Christianity did not need to be circumcised or adhere strictly to the Mosaic Law.

What were the disciples waiting for?
The disciples were waiting for the Holy Spirit, as promised by Jesus before His ascension. During the Pentecost
Why did they wait?
They waited so that the holy spirit could enlighten them and tell them how to continue Jesus’ work, as they couldn’t do it with their own strength.
What did it change? (Holy Spirit)
The Holy Spirit transformed fearful disciples into bold witnesses for Christ, giving them the courage, wisdom, and supernatural abilities to establish the early church and fulfill the Great Commission.
How was the theme of the high priest shown in Hebrews? How is this important?
The theme of the high priest in Hebrews portrays Jesus as the ultimate high priest who offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice for sin. This is important because it highlights the superiority of the new covenant and assures believers of their eternal salvation through Jesus’ sacrifice.
