acids (crystalisation) Flashcards
1
Q
how are crystals of soluble salts created?
A
- measure volume of acid
- gently heat acid
- add chosen base in excess. Acid has been neutralised when excess solid sinks to bottom
- filter excess base using filter paper and a funnel
- heat salt solution to evaporate water.
- leave rest to evaporate slowly so the crystals of the salt will form.
