acids (crystalisation) Flashcards

1
Q

how are crystals of soluble salts created?

A
  • measure volume of acid
  • gently heat acid
  • add chosen base in excess. Acid has been neutralised when excess solid sinks to bottom
  • filter excess base using filter paper and a funnel
  • heat salt solution to evaporate water.
  • leave rest to evaporate slowly so the crystals of the salt will form.
