First line therapy for H. pylori treatment
10-14 days of PPI & antibiotic (clarithromycin & amoxicillin or metronidazole)
PPI: bismuth subsalicylate & antibiotic: tetracycline & metronidazole

P-450 microsomal oxidase system in liver
Cimetidine has been replaced by
Famotidine
Long term antacid use may mask symptoms of
serious underlying diseases like malignancy or bleeding ulcers
Metocloprimide is given
30 minutes before meals for 4-12 weeks

30 min prior to meal; in morning
