What shape of access cavity is cut for maxillary anteriors / premolars and maxillary molars?
Which teeth may/will present an extra root?
A
Anteriors = just behind cingulum
Premolars = central - first premolar 2 roots so more oval shaped
Molars - mesio-buccal quadrant slightly extending over the midline lingually
3/4 possible molar roots

What shape of access cavity is cut for mandibular anteriors / premolars and mandibular molars?
Which teeth may/will present an extra root?
A
Anteriors and premolars = centrally
Molars = centrally, close together just distal to midline. Wider cavity 3/4 of the way mesially.
Molars can have 2-4 roots, normally 3.
