  • Speak to the individual and explain how they are discriminating, to raise their awareness
  • Ask the individual to reflect on their actions/what they have said
  • Encourage them to speak to the individual they discriminated against to find out how their actions impacted that person/apologise for their actions
  • Reporting the discrimination to a senior member of staff/manager

  • Show the individual the relevant policy, e.g. bullying, confidentiality, equal opportunities
  • Discuss the concerns/issue with their senior manager so he/she can address the issue or give advice
  • Managers can use disciplinary measures such as warnings explaining the seriousness of the issue/suspension/etc.
