Accept the possibilities Flashcards
You begin to start trusting new mental models only when you see it operate and produce favorable results in your life.
Don’t feed guilt, Depression, Worry, Shame, Jealousy, Hate, Fear, Embarrassment, Frustration.
Don’t feed the beast!
Condemnatory negative chatter nurtures strong negative impulses.
Personal mastery helps one sweep aside negativity and guilt, and feed good things, not beasts.
Harbor benevolence inside you so that when squeezed lightness sweetness and good comes out.
Simply apply healthier models like reading a really good book to drift off to sleep.
The universe is a conscious and benevolent entity. It always acts in your best interest and always brings into your life exactly what you need at any instant. It is perfect, it has always been perfect, but you just never saw this. It will always be perfect in the future. All you have to do is relax and go with the flow.
What if you believed in the proposed benevolent model? You would feel no loneliness, because you would always be provided for in ways you cannot fathom.
Adversity would become bearable because it, somehow, itn would be for your good and you’re growth.
There would be no frustration. Instead you would feel that the universe was simply charting a different and more efficient way to get you to where you needed to be.
The more you believe in the bounty of the universe, and don’t fight it, the more the rewards will shower upon you. Actively consider other perspectives and change what you focus on.
Write down examples of misfortunes that actually were blessings, in retrospect.
Consciously look for events in your life that are blessings, or events that turned out to be blessings when not initially viewed as such.
Misfortunes like being fired from a job, the end of a relationship, unexpected illnesses, and so on lead to unexpected, but eventually more for fiulfilling paths. Expect this to be true for you.
Gently entertain the possibility that the universe really is looking out for you. Maybe yes, maybe no, who knows?
But try to be open to the possibility and always look for evidence to support it.
Discard evidence that does not.
Maybe the universe really was supporting you and you just didn’t recognize it.
Do this sincerely and you will be amazed by how many instances you find worth recording in your diary.
Fill the pages and keep reviewing them.
Do this at least once a day. As the notebook fills and you keep reviewing it, you will come to a turning point.
When you arrive at the turning point, you will become acutely aware of the sheer number of instances where it seemed as if the universe was working with you and for you and in your best interest.
You can either go back to your old models, or accept the new ones and go forward into uncharted territory. Become more active, a lot more active, in terms of trying to see the hidden gifts in the misfortunes that come your way.
Accept that the tragedies you find difficult to fathom are like the forest fire that burns only to produce new seedlings. The suffering is a painful cleansing.
Recognize that the fact that the suffering disturbs you is a clear sign that your role is to do what you can to alleviate it and work with others to lessen it. You cannot duck this responsibility.
But all tragedies fit into a grander scheme. Even if you do not see this clearly, you will sense that there is a larger purpose that is being served and that there is healing in this knowledge.
There is a wonderful liberation of living in the universe that behaves as if it were specifically designed for you and acts to give you exactly what you need. A world where you can accept that what you want is not always what you need.
Dwell in a peaceful abode, with a deep sense of fulfillment and purpose. Enjoy joy, certitude. Develop personal mastery.
God has a much greater gift for you and you will get it only if you are gently persistent.
